Toy poodles, also called a Carniche – and their smaller varieties
the Tiny Toy Poodle, Miniature Poodle and the Teacup Poodle – are
very child-friendly, they don’t eat a lot (but should be fed twice
a day because of their size) and have a life expectancy of 12-14 years
which is very good for a small dog.
Unfortunately, if you get a pedigree, there are potential congenital
diseases to contend with, and for toy poodles (and standard poodles as
well) that is usually eye problems resulting in blindness when old. However
it is not a painful condition and the dog will remain happy.
