Bushido, the band.

Bushido in the main refers to the Japanese "Way of the Warrior" (click here for more).

The band is a modern Australian Prog Rock band, formerly known as Sterling Moss, was formed late 2002, with Jaymz Phillips (bass & vocals), Guy Shenfield (guitar & vocals) and Alex Dinic (drums).

They originated from the band called GRIT which comprised Shenfield and Dinic and the bass player David Osbourne. Later Jaymz Phillips joined the ensemble and the band took a Prog Rock turn. Osbourne wasn’t happy with the change of direction and left to give more time to his other band Clagg.

Phillips took Osbourne’s place on bass and the three-piece launched their debut EP "Last Breath" on an unsuspecting Melbourne in 2002.

After that release Bushido were invited to play on stage alongside bands such as Sunk Loto, Karnivool, Testeagles and COG.

In June 2006 Bushido released their album Mercina. This release, featuring six tracks in a 40 minute blizzard of power, was mixed by the producer Forrester Savell.

In the following six months they toured the East and West coasts of Australia, played support for Sebastian Bach and headlined in Melbourne shows. They also played the Pyramid Rock Festival for the second time and supported Karnivool.
