Hunt the thimble
Age range:
Young kids, Kids
Events:
Birthday party, Christmas, New Years Eve, Halloween, Easter
Location:
Indoor, Outdoor
You will need:
A small item (like a thimble), some players (from 1 up), a supervising
adult.
How to play:
All the players leave the room (or area, if its outdoors)
The adult hides the thimble, bearing in mind the abilities of the age
group of the children
The children come back in and try to find the thimble
The one that does, wins.
Variations:
1. "Hot and cold", in this version only one child goes out of
the room and when they come to search the rest must shout "cold",
"warmer", "colder", "hot", "burning"
depending on how close the seeker is, and whether they are approaching
or going away from the thimble.
2. "Singing Hunt the Thimble" is a version of "Hot and
Cold" where everyone has to sing (not necessarily the same song)
and sing louder when the person is approaching the thimble.
3. For very young players the object should be visible.
